Dive Medicine Training
Trilogy Emergency Medical Solutions offers the most comprehensive Dive Medicine training programs available for non-physician providers. Our courses are designed for divers, public safety personnel, military operators, and emergency responders seeking real-world skills in the recognition and field management of diving-related injuries. Whether you’re a recreational diver or a professional first responder, our courses provide the knowledge and confidence to manage emergencies where seconds count and help is far away.
Diving Medical Responder (DMR)
Originally introduced in 2016 and taught exclusively to public safety dive teams, the Diving Medical Responder (DMR) course is now available to all divers seeking advanced emergency response training specific to dive-related injuries. This course focuses on the assessment, stabilization, and field management of diving emergencies including decompression sickness, barotrauma, near-drowning, and marine life injuries.
Designed to bridge the gap between basic first aid and full Dive Medical Technician certification, the DMR is ideal for EMTs, paramedics, and dive professionals who want relevant, hands-on training without needing to complete hyperbaric chamber internships or commercial diving prerequisites.
Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) is offered as a companion course to DMR for those with no prior medical training. EMR provides foundational emergency care skills, allowing students to earn a nationally recognized certification and qualify to take the NREMT EMR exam. The EMR+DMR combination is the most robust pre-hospital dive medicine training available for non-healthcare providers.

Dive Medical Technician (DMT)
The Dive Medical Technician (DMT) course is a specialized advanced-level program for certified medical professionals—including EMTs, paramedics, and military medics—who support professional or scientific diving operations. This course builds on the DMR framework with more in-depth training on decompression illness, neurological assessments, emergency treatment protocols, and chamber operations (if applicable).
The DMT course is ideal for professionals working in offshore, remote, or high-risk diving environments who need to be prepared for critical incidents with limited resources. It is based on national and international standards for DMTs and provides the training needed for assignments on dive teams, remote installations, and expeditionary medical operations.
